HOW TO REPAIR ROOF SHINGLES – Replace Missing Aspahlt Roofing Shingles Step by Step Guide

Part two starts at 9:26

Learn how to perform a DIY (Do It Yourself) roof repair when you have missing or broken shingles on your roof.

Step 1: Using a flat bar, separate the tabs of overlapping shignles 2 rows above and 1-2 shingles left and right, so you can completely remeove the damaged shingle.

Pry up the nails that hold down the damaged shingle.

2) Remove the shigle and replace it with new color mataching shingle.
Most roof manufacturers have similar colors, so as long as your new shingle is the same size as old ones, you are in good shape.
Replace the damaged shingle with new shingle and nail it down with at least 4 galvanazed roofing nails. I recommend using 6 nails per shingle.

Next nail all overlapping shingels above on on the sides

Congrats – you are ALL SET!
